Pet Home Products Got Their Own Hall. The Exhibitors Came From Décor.

Two things happened at once this month, and together they say something specific about where pet home products are coming from.

The Fair: a Pet Zone Expands for a Second Time in Six Months

The first is the fair. JINHAN FAIR opens in Guangzhou on October 21 for its 54th edition, running through October 27 at the PWTC Expo. Pet home products, which first got their own zone at the April edition, expand again this autumn — a larger zone, plus a separate display area for new pet home designs.

The organizer's own line is blunt: pets and owners sharing a living space is opening a new product category.

Who Is Filling the Zone

The second is who is filling that zone. Read the exhibitor list and the pattern is clear. The factories moving in are not new pet specialists. They are home décor makers extending what they already do:

That list is the actual news. A category stops being a concept when the supply side arrives — and here the supply side is existing home factories, not startups.

Why This Matters Where Décor Already Runs

That matters most where a line already runs through ceramics, glass or woven décor. The tooling, the finishing, the material vocabulary and often the same buyer are already in place. The pet version is an extension of a line, not a new business. And the buyers walking that zone are the same importers and chain retailers who buy decorative home goods — the fair puts pet products under the same roof for exactly that reason.

One Scheduling Note Worth Acting On

JINHAN runs October 21 to 27. Canton Fair's second phase, which covers home décor, ceramics and glassware, kitchenware, furniture and gifts, runs October 23 to 27 — overlapping days, same city, and buyers will move between the two.

Three Things Worth Having Ready

  1. A pet line that starts from what the factory already makes. A new material capability is a cost; a new application of an existing one is a quote.
  2. Materials and finishes that survive a pet. Glazes, coatings and woven surfaces get tested by animals and by cleaning — the specification matters more here than in pure décor.
  3. The compliance file, packed. Buyers in this category ask about material safety and origin earlier than décor buyers do.

For anyone exhibiting, submissions for the pet design display area close October 12.

A category rarely announces itself. Usually it just quietly gets a hall.
